Syracuse University hosts the summer meeting of the Multiversity Intergroup Dialogue Research Project

This summer, from June 11 to June 14, Syracuse University hosted the summer meeting of the Multiversity Intergroup Dialogue Research Project. The Multiversity Project represents a research collaboration among nine institutions, including faculty, administrators, staff, and graduate students. Research collaborators from Arizona State University, Occidental College, University of California at San Diego, University of Maryland at College Park, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and University of Washington - Seattle, joined the Syracuse University research project team for four days of working meetings and campus activities. Research linked to this project, on the SU campus, has been directed by Gretchen Lopez, assistant professor of Cultural Foundations of Education.

The summer meeting agenda included a campus reception and a breakfast with Chancellor Nancy Cantor. Patricia Gurin, the Nancy Cantor Distinguished University Professor Emerita of Psychology and Women's Studies at the University of Michigan, and principal investigator of the Multiversity Project provided a summary of the preliminary research findings and the broader scope and significance of the collective research effort. This summer meeting marked the last phase of the externally funded (Ford Foundation and W. T. Grant Foundation) three-year period of longitudinal and multi-method data collection.
