Additional Opportunities at SU

Syracuse University has made a commitment to creating a campus community that is free from discrimination and celebrates the diversity of its various community members. To learn more about programs, offices, and policies at SU which relate to diversity, visit the Diversity @ SU webpage.

The Diversity in the Curriculum Sampler is designed to showcase the breadth and richness of the diversity embedded in various forms within the SU undergraduate curriculum. It allows students and their advisors to identify courses that will enhance their awareness and exploration of a wide variety of diversity related issues. Search for a course within your school/college or according to the following diversity parameters: race and/or ethnicity, gender, age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, and international worldview.

If you're looking for opportunities to become involved on campus and in the community, have conversations about race and ethnicity with peers, and advocate for social justice, learn more about the variety of student organizations on campus by visiting the Office of Greek Life and Experiential Learning's website.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides the necessary support and guidance needed to encourage students to become members of a community respectful of differences. Visit the OMA website to learn more and to access their calendar of events.

Visit the Office of Residence Life Diversity Committee website to learn about programs and services ORL offers to provide students with a balanced and diverse experience that will prepare them for life at the university and beyond.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center provides education, advocacy, support, and safe space for LGBT and allied students, staff, faculty, parents, and alumni of Syracuse University. Visit the LGBT Resource Center website for information about the Resource Center and to learn what’s happening on campus.

Check out the Pulse calendar of events to see what else is happening around the University and the city of Syracuse.

The Center for Public & Community Service (CPCS) encourages students, faculty, and staff to work together for intellectual, ethical, professional and personal development through reciprocal learning in partnership with the community. To find out about opportunities available through the CPCS, check out their website.

To get involved with intergroup dialogue at the Central New York community level, visit the website of the Community-Wide Dialogue on Racism, Race Relations and Racial Healing, a program of the InterReligious Council of Central New York.
